Psalms 6:1 O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger,
From whatever angle you look at it, a rebuke that comes not from anger but from love is the best! It's the rebuke that you can trust. It's the rebuke that you can receive.
nor discipline me in your wrath.
Discipline, when given in wrath, gives the notion that the one giving it is against you. That it is not just what you did but it is your person that is hated - that's what crushes hearts and spirits. It's not really discipline but rejection.
