Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing; heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled. Psalms 6:1,2 David’s prayer in this OT Psalm has become our security as believers today. Through Christ's death and resurrection 2000 years ago, we were brought from darkness into light; from death into life; from being outsiders to sons of God, equal with Him as far as righteousness is concerned and forever loved. Can you believe it? Because if you can, it's yours. This is the new covenant God made with us through Christ. Through it, He has made us sons of God through Christ in whom He will never get angry with but will always be gracious to and has promised healing to be made available for us. Ain’t that great?! If we are in Christ, our identity is no longer 'sinners' but sons of God. Let this

Psalms 6:1 O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger,  From whatever angle you look at it, a rebuke that comes not from anger but from love is the best! It's the rebuke that you can trust. It's the rebuke that you can receive. nor discipline me in your wrath. Discipline, when given in wrath, gives the notion that the one giving it is against you.  That it is not just what you did but it is your person that is hated - that's what crushes hearts and spirits. It's not really discipline but rejection.
